GUITARFEST 2007

 

 

This is the second year of the International Guitar Festival with participation of outstanding performers from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Canada.This festival is going to be held at the general public room of PKO (the palace of culture) in Bratislava; concerts starts from six p.m.; the workshops are going to run on Saturday from eleven a.m.

  FERO GRIGLÁK
On Friday we can see Fero Griglák, one of the greatest legendary guitarist, with his also famous FERMATA band. He will be countered by Juraj Burian and his Berklee College of Music playmates.- excellent bass guitarists Pavel Jakub Ryba from the Czech Republic (Mike Stern helped him with guitar recordings in his last album) and  Pole Wojtek Pilichowski (Michal Urbaniak, Greg Bizonet/David Lee Roth, Joe Satriani/, Ricky Latham, Nicko McBrain /Iron Maiden/, Marco Mineman /H-Block/, Vinnie Moore, Chris de Burgh..). On Friday there will present Andrej Hruška, one of the promising talents from Bratislava.

On Saturday workshops for musicians will be running focused on guitar and bass techniques, home-recording and presentation of producers of musical instruments.

In the evening the concert marathon will be going on; we will be able to watch the performance of Henry Tóth – the Slovak guitar virtuoso. From Czech Republic we can see Zdeněk Fišer (Pražský Výběr, Laco Deczi and New York Celula, Jiří Stivín, Hana Hegerová, Jana Koubková). From Canada  will  arrive Dave Goodman – the bluesman who  played in the famous California Ford Bluesband along with Robben Ford. Saturday´s programme has a real jazzing-up in performance of Martin Bies – one of the best flamenco guitarist with his band in our country. This evening we can experience The ACOUSTIC COLOURS – an interesting instrumental configuration of the guitarist Michal Vavro, bass guitarist Juraj Griglák and violinist Stano Palúch. They play an original high-spirits acoustic music diffusing together various genres. From young talented musicians we can see Dávid Kollár z Prešova presenting to audience..
